The year was 2008. The place was Colorado Springs. John F Cruz was at a social event. A conversation began with a friend that worked for the American Cancer Society. She mentioned she noticed reports that show a rise in brain tumors and it was believed to stem from the use of cellular phones. This stayed with John. Upon returning to Salt Lake City, John organized a meeting with Dr. Om Ganhdi, Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Utah. Dr. Gandhi was initially contracted by Motorola to test cellular frequencies effects on the human body. Dr. Gandhi was instrumental in raising health concerns associated to the exposure from these frequencies being used by mobile phones.  The FCC ignored Dr. Gandhi’s reports and the cellular technology moved forward into the commercial market.  

John researched and designed a mobile phone case that would effectively block the power signals transmitted out of the front of the phone into the brain and body without affecting cell tower communication. The Cruz phone cases are sold online at www.Cruzcase.com 

John F Cruz volunteered to give free business planning seminars through SCORE (Senior Core of Retired Executives). SCORE was a national organization and offered free services to the entrepreneurial community in every state. John had used SCORE in the initial startup of his company and wanted to repay the support with support. 

John gave business planning seminar to startup companies and business owners that were working through various problem unique to their business. John also volunteered time in the SCORE office to privately consult private question and problems facing new entrepreneurs. 

The most popular seminar John gave was called Time Travel Planning. This was a closed eye process whereby, John put the audience into a state of deep relaxation and guided them to obverse their business as it operated today and how it was operating in the future from a third party prospective. On occasion, John gave motivational presentations giving audience members a direction to work through challenges facing them as they pursued the vision each wanted for their life.  

Since 2017 John F Cruz has acted in over 26 Chinese movies and TV series making him a known talent in China’s film industry and among film going fans. John is best known for playing General O.P. Smith in the blockbuster movie “Chosin Reservoir Battle”, 2021, recorded as the 2nd highest grossing film worldwide for ticket sales last reported at $908 million. In this film, John acted under the direction of China’s top three directors Kaige Chen, Dante Lam, Hark Tsui. 

John’s acting career started in Hamburg Germany, the year was 2004. After being approached on three different occasions while sitting in a pasty tea shop on the streets in Eppendorf. I was asked the same question, “are you an actor, we have a film project”. The first two times I was surprised and responded, no, I am a computer programmer. However on the third time, I thought about it and said, “Maybe I am, please tell me about your project”. 

I was offered a support role in Grosser Kinder with well-known German actress Marita Marshall. The short film was called Grosser Kinder and won first place in the German Film Festival. For John it was love at first experience and he started taking acting classed in Germany and upon his return back to the United States. Shortly after his return he was casted in Savin Sarah Cain in 2007, directed by Michael Landin Jr. . John later was casted as General Cain in Cal Nguyen’s Day Zero web series.
