John designed ImageMind's logo to resemble the eye piece of the VHS video tape recorder. The nich was added by the graphic's artist recommending it is how eyes are portrayed in animated characters.
In 1993, John F Cruz wrote a program to play very small digital video clips full screen in natural motion. He turned his program into a Windows 95 video screen saver.
June 6, 1994 Connections Magazine did a full review of John Cruz's Video Screen Saver. The article included an interview with John Cruz. This article shows the Video Express Saver retail box featuring John's computer monitor. The company did not have a logo at the time. In order to finish the retail box, John created a logo of the VHS recorder viewer eye piece.
December 12, 1994. Discovery Channel's press release announcing Great Moments of Discovery Full Screen Video Saver written by John F Cruz. The product was shipped with 30 colorful videos using the high quality nature footage produced by Discovery Channel and TV New Zealand's Natural History Unit.
Fall 1995. Windows Magazine gave Great Moments of Discovery the Screen Saver of the Month award. The full screen video screen saver was programmed by John F Cruz. John also digitalized 30 high quality video clips of nature and wild life that was included with the product. Retail price $19.95.

In the year 2000 John F Cruz designed Implode a Friend website for Microsoft in Celebration of the Seattle's Kingdome implosion. Visitors could select various famous implosions which would then could be emails to friends, family and coworkers.

ImageMind also developed one of the first video instant messaging systems. However, it never got fully implemented.
